Investor

Casper focuses on thesis-driven investing, backing founders with bold ambitions and a clear vision to tackle massive market opportunities.
He is an operator at heart who likes to work closely with founders and support them on executing their vision. He has a particular interest in climate tech and fintech, and believes solving the climate equation is the most exciting large-scale problem to solve within our lifetime.
Prior to byFounders, Casper helped build banking and payments infrastructure for the crypto industry at one of byFounders’ portfolio companies, Januar. He also gained experience in VC and M&A at Blockchain Valley Ventures.
Beyond investing, you’ll find Casper backcountry skiing, capturing the world through his camera lens, or discovering the next great craft beer.
Casper is based in the Copenhagen office.

Investor

Deina focuses on supporting early-stage founders using AI in novel ways, from healthcare and drug discovery to complex workflows and online communities.
She brings a rare combination of technical depth, startup experience, and boundless energy to byFounders. She’s particularly fascinated by bold technical ideas and thrives on the chaos of building something from scratch.
Prior to byFounders, Deina worked at Microsoft and GitHub on developer experience, and at BCG advising on GenAI strategy. She also founded a mentorship nonprofit and teaches computer science.
Outside work, Deina thrives on music, standup comedy, gaming, and building fun tech projects.

Investor

Johan focuses on supporting exceptional founders who aim to redefine what’s possible.
He has a particular interest in robotics and autonomous systems, personalised health and biotech, as well as next-generation computing platforms.
Before byFounders, Johan spent over a decade pushing the limits of technology in the US. From moonshot projects at Google X to scaling Lyft’s self-driving car program, he now helps founders tackle complex, high-impact problems.
Johan spends his time outside of work exploring nature with his kids. He enjoys biking through the city, reading widely across philosophy, physics, and history and cooking whenever he gets the chance.
Johan is based in the Copenhagen office.

Partner

Magnus focuses on backing founders with large-scale, long-term ambitions that have the potential to change industries. That generally means DeepTech, HealthTech, AI/ML, and Dev Tooling.
Magnus has always had an interest in technical stuff – the stuff he struggles to understand and sounds like a far-flung artifact from a utopian Type III civilization on the Kardashev scale.
Before byFounders, Magnus led the data and product teams at Natural Cycles. Here, his focus was on building deep learning models to predict fertility based on time series data. He has also spent time at BCG and even founded a startup accelerator and co-working space during his time at university.
In his free time, Magnus enjoys hiking in the mountains, kitesurfing, and occasionally you’ll even find him playing the Irish Bouzouki!
Magnus is based in the Stockholm office.

Investor

Nathaniel focuses on helping founders turn half-formed ideas into products customers actually want. He has a particular interest in infrastructure, deeply integrated vertical AI and FinTech.
Nathaniel started out at Danish startup Firmnav, then joined Unhaze during its Y Combinator journey, and later founded Seedpoint, which was also acquired.
At byFounders, he brings the instincts and pattern recognition that only come from building zero-to-one more than once, helping founders navigate the questions that matter most early on.
Outside work, Nathaniel plays piano and runs long distances – sometimes even on the same day!
Nathaniel is based in the Copenhagen office.

Investor

Peik focuses on founders coming out of Finland and Sweden, with a particular interest in full-stack AI and consumer tech with bold visions.
He combines academic rigor with startup instinct, holding a double master’s in CEMS MIM and Accounting while gaining hands-on experience across the Nordic ecosystem.
Before byFounders, Peik explored frontier tech at Kvanted Ventures, supported the startup team at Slush, and drove growth at Wolt. He has learnt how to move fast, think strategically, and execute effectively.
Outside work, Peik follows global and local politics closely, cycles, plays padel, and experiments with making the perfect cappuccino.
Peik is based in the Stockholm office.

Investor

Ugne focuses on sourcing and evaluating new opportunities and supporting existing portfolio companies as they grow.
She’s particularly excited about vertical B2B plays – whether it’s deep tech, agentic workflows, or embedded AI solving highly defensible problems that can’t be vibe-coded. She’s drawn to products built for complexity, not just scale.
Before joining byFounders, Ugne worked as both an operator and investor, starting her career at Morgan Stanley in hedge funds and portfolio optimisation. She believes that being an investor is one of the coolest jobs in the world: Building alongside founders and asking the ‘silly’ questions to the smartest people.
Outside of work, she splits her time between mountain trails and city streets. You’ll find her either hiking, playing tennis, horseback riding, listening to live music or enjoying modern art.
Ugne is based in the Copenhagen office.

Communications & Events Lead

Cecilie is responsible for how the fund shows up – through words, experiences, and relationships. This means shaping the byFounder’s brand and messaging, driving marketing initiatives, and curating events that bring our community together in meaningful ways.
Before joining the VC world, Cecilie led communications for several of Copenhagen’s top restaurants, working across PR, branding, and guest experience. She also spent time in New York managing artists, an intense and creative environment that taught her how to work fast, stay sharp, and connect with people across cultures.
Cecilie has always been drawn to high-energy environments where ideas become action and communication plays a key role in making things happen.
Outside of byFounders, you’ll find Cecilie enjoying the city life with her boyfriend, snack-negotiating with their two wild sons or planning her next trip. She thrives where chaotic meets loud and loves to spend time with friends discovering new spots in the restaurant scene.
Cecilie is based in the Copenhagen office.

Founding Partner

I’m a tech entrepreneur with more than 20 years of operational experience from Silicon Valley and Scandinavia. I was part of the early team at Skype and Tradeshift and I co-founded Memolane, which was acquired by HP.I believe that nurturing long-term success goes far beyond an idea that will disrupt a market, but rather deep into team dynamics and operational experience. By providing the next generation of founders with the support and network they need to succeed is key and it’s exciting that we’ve been able to set up a unique fund that does just that.
I’m based in the Copenhagen office.

Finance & Fund Ops Associate

As part of the operations team at byFounders, I support our VP of Finance & Fund Operations, Jacob, in driving key initiatives across finance and portfolio data—ensuring smooth internal processes, accurate KPI tracking, and timely investor reporting. My focus is on building strong financial infrastructure behind the scenes, enabling the team to operate efficiently and make data-informed decisions.
Before joining byFounders, I worked on growth and go-to-market at a pre-seed EdTech startup in London, was part of the investment team at a London/Copenhagen-based VC, and contributed to a climate-focused SaaS company helping businesses reduce their travel emissions. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Advanced Economics and Finance at CBS.
Outside of work, I’m an avid runner, cinephile, and global politics enthusiast—and a former competitive pétanque player.
I’m based in the Copenhagen office.

CFO

As a member of the operations team, I ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, allowing our investment team to concentrate on sourcing and securing the best investment opportunities.
Additionally, with my background and keen interest in high-growth tech companies, I also support selected portfolio companies in building best-in-class finance functions, while maintaining their focus on developing core products.
Before joining byFounders, I was part of two Danish scale-ups, Pleo and Leapwork, where I led various finance functions, managed investor relations, and played a key role in funding efforts - including Pleo’s unicorn round. Earlier in my career, I gained experience in international audit at Grant Thornton.
Outside of work, I’m a dedicated home chef, DIY enthusiast, golfer, and father of two daughters.
I’m based in the Copenhagen office.

Data & Impact Lead

As our Data & Impact Lead, I oversee our fund intelligence. This means that I provide data-driven insights to support our deal sourcing, due diligence, and external reporting. I also play a key role in our ESG and impact initiatives, offering guidance to our founders and upholding our commitment to external transparency.
I always feel at home in the startup ecosystem. Prior to joining byFounders, I co-founded Veriply, a FinTech startup dedicated to combating invoice errors and fraud.
This experience allowed me to build upon my existing background, which spans business administration, data science, and an ongoing sidekick of coding various applications.
Backing up a little, my academic journey is marked by a Master's degree in Management of Innovation and Business Development from CBS, complemented by a full scholarship for UC Berkeley, where I studied entrepreneurship and built up my network in Silicon Valley.
I have a soft spot for dogs (especially Boxers), enjoy playing board games, and love to travel. If you want to hear some great stories, ask me about my recent trip to Costa Rica and why I think that snakes are some of the most fascinating animals (besides octopuses and orcas).
I’m based in the Copenhagen office.

Partner

I have spent a handful of years in VC and two handfuls in the world of technology and startups, building and selling bootstrapped companies and side projects in Denmark, Seoul, and Beijing.
Earlier in my life, I was a professional online poker player, honing a skill set in game theory, math, and psychology - traits that translate surprisingly well to venture investing. I also published a book once.
I’m intrigued by the craft of investing and a student of all aspects of it. So, in addition to leading investments and working with portfolio companies, I enjoy building fund models and tinkering with strategic considerations like portfolio construction and reserves management.
I'm a big fan of bold entrepreneurs building companies on the frontier of technology and I specifically spend time in areas such as AI, climate tech, bits-to-atoms solutions, as well as vertical software.
I hold a Master's in Political Science from Aarhus University and International Relations from Sogang University, Seoul.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time playing with my son and daughter, and - if time and waves allow - mountain biking and cold water surfing.
I'm based in Aarhus.

I manage our Stockholm office but engage with Nordic and Baltic founders, wherever they are. Most of my time is spent with B2B startups and companies addressing large climate or health challenges.
Prior to byFounders, I spent a few years in tech, working with a couple of venture-backed startups in New York and Singapore. I’ve also spent some time on the “dark side” as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and as the manager of global strategy implementation at Danske Bank.
Over the years, I have also had the opportunity to work on a few passion projects including founding Sweden’s largest network for young entrepreneurs and working with social business models in Bangladesh.
I hold an MBA from INSEAD and Wharton Business School, a Bachelor in Business & Economics from Stockholm School of Economics, and have had the pleasure to spend two years as a Kauffman Fellow.
In my spare time, I nerd out on board games and spend as much time as possible outdoors (fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, you name it!).
I’m a firm believer that founders are the real heroes and that I, as an investor, have one job: to serve those heroes to the best of my ability. My goal is to be that one trusted advisor you can lean on, both in good and bad times. Because, after all, the startup journey is a roller coaster and I’m expecting nothing less.
I'm based in our Stockholm office.

Founding Partner

Before we built byFounders, I successfully co-founded and exited three companies, including Libratone and Embedit, and built an extensive portfolio of angel investments individually and as part of the angel collective, Nordic Makers.
I’m an active participant of the Danish tech and impact ecosystem through my involvement in several accelerators, incubators, and startup organizations. I’m the co-founder of the Industry Association for Tech Startups in Denmark. I led the Danish Government's Entrepreneurial Panel. And I’m a member of the 14th Climate Partnership.
To contribute to the ecosystem by continuously working on how to improve the support of startups and the next generation of founders, is something very important and special to me.
My vast entrepreneurial and advisory experiences have instilled in me a robust understanding of business and operational management, which I today utilize to support the byFounders portfolio companies in driving long-term growth and success.
I’m based in the Copenhagen office.
